Job Overview

Lead the architecture and delivery of end-to-end AWS data engineering solutions for financial services clients. Partner with cross-functional teams to design, build, and optimize data pipelines, data lakes, and analytics platforms tailored for financial use cases including risk, compliance, and real-time reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Architect scalable, secure AWS-based data platforms (S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, Lambda, Lake Formation) for large-scale financial data.

Analyze client requirements, design technical solutions, and create reference architectures for banking, insurance, fintech, and capital markets clients.

Lead client workshops, gather business and data requirements, and translate them into technical cloud architectures.

Build complex ELT/ETL pipelines using PySpark, AWS Glue, and Redshift tailored for financial data sources.

Ensure security, compliance (e.g., RBI, IRDAI, GDPR), and data governance frameworks in all solutions.

Design data lifecycle management, retention, quality, and audit strategies using native AWS and partner tools.

Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and DevOps teams to optimize compute, storage, and analytics performance.

Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and best practice guidance to project teams and client stakeholders.

Prepare technical documentation, solution presentations, and whitepapers.

Support sales and pre-sales activities through solution demos, proposals, and client engagements.

Stay abreast of advances in financial technology, data privacy laws, and AWS services.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.

10+ years’ experience in data engineering/architecture; 5+ years on AWS data stack. [2][3]

Hands-on expertise in S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, Lambda, Athena, Lake Formation.

Deep understanding of financial data domains: transactional data, security master, risk, compliance, reporting, AML/Fraud analytics.

Knowledge of DataOps, DevOps, CI/CD tools and automation on AWS.

Proven track record delivering large-scale data platforms in banking, insurance, or capital markets environments.

Strong interpersonal, communication, client-facing skills; stakeholder management.

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (preferred).

Experience with Python/PySpark, SQL, and data warehousing best practices.

Familiarity with Kafka, Kinesis, or other streaming platforms is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in regulatory/compliance-driven environments.

Prior leadership in cloud modernization/transformation for BFSI clients in India.

Experience with third-party compliance and data governance tools.
